TS - 20 Integral Foam Dam
Fire protection of open topped floating roof tanks frequently involves the use of fixed or portable foam delivery systems. Experience shows that the perimeter of the floating roof, in the region of the seal, is the most likely to be affected by fire.
TankServ has developed its TS20 Integral Foam Dam System that is designed to replace the usual arrangement of a vertical steel plate. The TS20 has been developed with the NFPA Regulations in mind and is supplied of sufficient height to ensure that the seal tip is submerged by a minimum of 50mm in the event of a fire.
Key attributes of the TS20 Integral Foam Dam:
- Foam dam does not contact pontoon top thus opportunity for corrosion is avoided
- Increased height above the secondary seal can easily be achieved
- Impounded volume will be smaller than conventional foam dam arrangement, thus reducing filling time in the event of an emergency
- A range of materials for construction are available, including stainless and galvanized steel
