Location: A497 Abererch Road, Wales Client: National Grid Pipeline A497 Abererch Road Improvements. Construction, installation and testing of 3 number 100mm/150mm diameter steel gas pipeline diversions of approximate length 750m, 1150m and 1750m. Location: M77 Pipeline Diversion Scotland, Client: Transco Pipeline Phase 1 - The extension of the M77 motorway required the diversion of several high pressure pipelines and one intermediate pressure main for Transco. For the diversions, L&M laid almost 2 km of steel pipeline in four separate locations using the latest no-dig techniques wherever possible. Location: Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset, England Client: Wessex Water Authority Engineering and Pipeline This turnkey contract includes the installation of a 3.5 km x 48” welded steel pipeline, to transport treated effluent from the sewage treatment works to Black Rock Pumping Station prior to discharge into the Severn Estuary. The pipeline had cathodic protection and was coated both internally and externally. Four rhyne and road crossings were completed utilising “no-dig” techniques, and additional pumping equipment installed at the Sewage Treatment Works. Comprehensive feasibility studies including ‘value engineering’ and build-ability work were carried out to identify the most advantageous options for Wessex Water. Extensive Route Selection work was undertaken to find the path that would have the least impact on the environment and cause minimal disruption to the travelling public. Location: Gilwern to Hafodyrynys, Wales Client: Transco Pipeline and AGI Construction The contract comprised the Design and Construction of a 24.3 kms x 600mm diameter high pressure welded steel pipeline from Gilwern to Hafodyrynys in South Wales. At each end Above Ground Installations requiring hot tap connections and gas control facilities were constructed. The scheme included a section of complex roadwork at Brynmawr and a micro-tunnel crossing of the A472.
Location: Peterstow to Gilwern, Wales Client: National Grid Pipeline and AGI Construction Detail design and construction of a 43km x 600mm diameter cross country gas pipeline in an area of outstanding natural beauty in South Wales. Scope included AGIs, hot taps and gas control facilities.
Location: Pontyates to Banceyfelin, Wales Client: Transco Pipeline and AGI Construction Construction of a 19.3 kms x 600mm welded steel pipeline from the existing AGI to Pontyates to a new AGI at Bancyfelin. The works includes the crossing of roads, river, streams and ditches, culvert, existing services and railways. Together with the expansion to the existing AGI at Pontyates, the construction of a new AGI at Bancyfelin and the construction of two block valves. Location: Maudlin to Indian Queens, Devon, England Client: Transco Pipeline Design, supply and construction of a 19.5 kms x 900mm, 70 bar steel pipeline from Maudlin (near Bodmin) to Indian Queens (near Newquay) in Cornwall.
