Location: Banff Field, North Sea, UK Client: Conoco UK Ltd Ploughing Provision of the plough PBP4 with operators for the burial of interfied flowlines within the Banff Field 4 No. x 1.4km (1 x 171mm, 3 x 273mm) and 1 No. 5km x 323mm. Plough deployed and towed by the "Nordica". Location: Johnston Field, North Sea, UK Client: Hamilton Oil Pipeline and Cable Trenching The post pipelay plough burial of a 9.2km, 323mm dia production line and piggybacked 60mm dia methanol pipeline. The pipelines running between a wellhead and the Johnston platform were buried 1.5 metres into the seabed using plough PBP 4 towed by two high powered tugs. Location: Point of Ayr, Wales Client: Hamilton Oil Trenching The burial of the 3km x 508mm gas pipeline and 2 No. associated 90mm dia piggybacked condensate lines 2 metres into the seabed using the TM IV trenching machine operating from the workbarge LM Balder. This section formed the pipeline landfall of the Hamilton Field development in Liverpool Bay. Location: Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire, Scotland Client: BP Petroleum Development Ltd Ploughing and Trenching The jetting of the 914mm dia x 1.5km foreshore section of the Forties Field replacement pipeline into the sandy seabed using the trenching machine TM IV to give up to 2m of cover to the pipeline. A further 16.5km of the pipeline was trenched to give 0.25m of cover using the 'post pipelay' plough PBP1. Both trenching operations were supported by the workbarge LM Balder. Location: St. Fergus, Aberdeenshire, Scotland Client: Mobil North Sea Ltd Trenching The jetting of the 762mm dia x 1.8km landfall section of the Beryl Field gas pipeline and an associated 323mm dia x 800m long outfall pipeline into the seabed using the trenching machine TM IV operating from the workbarge LM Balder. Location: V' Fields, North Sea, UK Client: Conoco Ploughing The post pipelay trenching of the 116km x 100mm dia LOGGS methanol pipeline. LM Balder was used to support the pipe plough PBP3 to give a minimum pipe cover of l.0 m. All survey, position-fixing and plough monitoring carried out by LME. The first project to use LME's variable geometry plough. Location: Barmouth, Wales Client: Welsh Water Authority Trenching The burial of a 325mm dia x 1.75km sea outfall using the trenching machine SL4, operating from the work barge LM Njord. Location: Ula-Cod Fields, North Sea, Norway Client: BP Petroleum Ploughing The post pipelay plough burial of the 26km x 273mm dia steel pipeline between Ula and Cod platforms. Plough PBP3 was towed by DSV to form a 700mm deep trench in the sandy seabed. Water depth at the fields was 80m. Location: Logger-Kotter Fields, North Sea, Holland Client: Conoco Ploughing The post pipelay plough trenching of two pipelines between platforms. The 219mm and 168mm dia pipelines were each 19km long and were buried 1.2m into the sandy seabed using plough PBP3 towed by the workbarge LM Balder. Location: Dover to Calais, English Channel, England Client: CEGB Rock Trenching Cutting 2 No. 45km cable trenches in chalk, sandstone, gault clays, sands and gravels across the English Channel using the submersible, self-propelled, remotely controlled rock trenching machine RTM III operating from the workbarge LM Balder. The machine cut a trench 1.5m deep x 0.6m wide Location: West Sole Field, North Sea, UK Client: BP Petroleum Development Ploughing The post burial ploughing of the 610mm dia trunk line into the seabed. Operating from LM Balder a 1.2m deep trench was formed by plough PBP1 in glacial clays and sand. The 70km line was the first large diameter line to be buried by this technique in the North Sea. Location: St. Fergus, Aberdeenshire, Scotland Client: Total Oil Marine Trenching the burial of twin 812mm dia x 2km long gas pipelines in sand, using trenching machine TM IV operating from LM Balder in the shore approach section to give a cover of 2 metres. Location: Neath, South Wales, Wales Client: Neath BC/Port Talbot BC/Neath Trenching The jetting of a 1.22m dia x 4.4km outfall pipe into a granular seabed using the trenching machine TM III, operating from LM Thor to give 0.6m cover to the pipeline.
